Chiquita and Fyffes Receive Clearance From the European Commission for Proposed Combination

Chiquita Brands International, Inc. and Fyffes plc today announced that the companies have received clearance from the European Commission for their proposed merger transaction. This regulatory clearance marks an important step toward the completion of the combination , which has been unanimously approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies.
