Chiquita to close Charlotte headquarters

The new owners of Chiquita Brands International Inc. will close the company's NASCAR Plaza headquarters that houses up to 320 employees, Mecklenburg County officials learned this morning. County Manager Dena Diorio sent email to Mecklenburg County Commissioners saying the headquarters would be closed.
