Cirrus Logic Inc. on Tuesday reported a 49 percent surge in fourth-quarter profits and easily topped analysts earnings projections. The Austin-based company that makes integrated circuits for smartphones, tablets and other devices posted a net income of $21.3 million, or 32 cents per share, on revenue of $255.1 million compared with a net income of $12.6 million, or 20 cents per share, on revenue of $149.6 million during the same period last year, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission .
