City Council meets Thursday to OK railroad expansion

The La Crosse City Council will meet Thursday to discuss its proposed agreement with Burlington Northern, which would allow the railroad company to build a second track on the east side of the city. If the agreement is approved, BNSF will pay for the remediation and improvements at Forest Hills golf course, all utility crossings in the city, and new equipment and training for La Crosse Fire Department, in the case of a spill.
