PennLive: When a plane with sophisticated monitoring equipment flew over southwestern Pennsylvania gas drilling sites, checking on how much gas was escaping, the results were startling. Gas coming off the sites was at least 100 times greater than federal regulators had estimated that drilling operations produce.
