We are currently looking for a Cold Atom Interferometry Engineer to support our customer in the Netherlands. Cold Atom Interferometry Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the ESAs Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes you will join the Future Mission team. In this role you will have the following responsibilities Support the monitoring of EOP CAI studies Perform internal studies to assess the results of external activities on CAI, including to define and maintain CAI systemlevel budgets and to perform performance studies Contribute to the elaboration of the SoWs for the realization of the CAI gradiometer Investigate other applications of CAI for EOP purposes, implementing other concepts than gravity gradiometer Support interactions with other ESA departments e.g., TECMM and SRES, national agencies and space industry in order to propose more reliable and compact CAI technology. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in an engineering discipline Several years of relevant experience in a similar role Good communication and technical writing skills, Good organisation skills as well as methodical and proactive Good general knowledge of ESA EOP missions, and in particular of future gravity missions based on CAI technology Strong and demonstrated background in CAI technology, and in particular in laser systems and quantum sensors, and in its applications to space Experience of daytoday contact with international experts and partners in the field Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Noordwijk.
