Company CEO Timothy Tevens said sales started off slow in the quarter but ramped up, with especially encouraging growth in Germany. Profits for the manufacturer , which is headquartered in Amherst but has operations around the world, were affected by European factory consolidations and the cost of an acquisition announced in January.
