The deal was regarded as anti-competitive by some at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission and the Justice Department and had been under review by the Federal Trade Commission. "The proposed merger would have posed an unacceptable risk to competition and innovation, including to the ability of online video providers to reach and serve consumers," Tom Wheeler, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, said in a statement.
