Overview Generic tasks for the position are Assistance in preparation of invitation to tenders related to ESA RD. Activities and contracts technical followup. Specific engineering support to space projects developed by ESA andor by major European industriesoperators. Validation of designs by means of analyses, simulations, laboratory testing and field trials possibly in cooperation with third parties. Design, implementation and testing tasks for technological projects. Specific tasks related to the role are Support the user terminal developments within the Iris project. Support ARTES CG activities related to ground segment developments for telecom systems. Support the preparation of the section RD technology roadmaps in thearea of telecom systems and networks. Support the section telecom lab activities. Specific qualification requirements University degree MSc. in Engineering with educational background in Telecommunicationengineering. Satellite telecommunication systems and protocols. Air Traffic Management ATM. Aeronautical user terminals for ATM via Satellite. Ground user terminal for broadband telecommunications. Secure telecommunication networks. Knowledge of digital communication system and subsystem techniques, highspeed processing techniques for communication via satellites. Knowledge of satellite communication architectures and techniques. Familiarity with modern communication system and subsystem simulation techniques, as a minimum Matlab and CC program languages. Knowledge of modern prototyping and testing methodologies for digital communication subsystems is also preferred. Fluent in the English language spoken and written. Knowledge of another European language is an asset. NOTE For candidates with less than 10 years experience, we need to provide to ESA the relevant academic transcripts. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line withESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included. Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially.
