We are currently looking for a Solaris and Linux System Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Consultancy Support Solaris and Linux System Engineer As a member of the Computer System Management team, the key person shall provide support to all Ground Segment Commissioning and Routine Operations. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Installation and configuration of operating system and other software, tuning of operating systems parameters to optimize performance Analysis, planning and performance of Hardware HW and Software SW upgrades Monitoring of the system performance, investigation into HW and system SW problems and performance of the relevant corrective actions Definition, maintenance, performance of backup procedures Liaison with the external provider of HW or system SW maintenance for the request and follow up of maintenance interventions Support to SW development and maintenance Implementation and maintenance of scripts, update technical documentation in relation to system upgrades Administration of user accounts, installation of databases Provision of support oncall support, as required to critical operations. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University Degree in computer science or equivalent Several years of administration, troubleshooting of distributed systems in operational or production environment, including both client and server side SolarisLINUX operating systems RedHat or SLES High availability softwares Sun Cluster, Veritas Cluster, Sun QFS, SAMQFS IT System design skills Nagios, VMWare, RAID arrays EMC, SAN Brocade Fluency in English is mandatory another European language is an advantage.
