Consultancy Support for Ground Segment System Engineering

The Consultant shall have a university degree or equivalent in the domain of engineering or science, together with at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the following areas and disciplines Extensive experience in the specification, design including functional analysis and modelling, implementation, integration, and verification of large and complex Earth Observation ground segments Experience in the preparation of ground segment requirements and design documentation Experience in system engineering practices and processes, especially in the field of space systems engineering, including knowledge of ECSS standards and system life cycle processes Detailed knowledge of at least 2 of the following and a good overview of the others i Networking Communications ii Ground Stations iii Near RealTime Data Processing chains iv Satellite and ground segment control systems The following experience would represent additional assets Experience in data archive retrieval and data dissemination systems Experience in management and traceability of complex requirements structure experience with DOORS administration Experience in the use of modelling and design tools in support of architectural design activities e.g. CORE, Enterprise Architect Experience in Model Based System engineering techniques and tools The Consultant shall be able to fulfill the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Heshe shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written are important. Heshe shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills. The working language for this position is English and therefore the Consultant must be able to work effectively in this language.
