Consumers Energy plans to purchase power from new wind farm

Consumers Energy says it plans to purchase power from a new 100-megawatt wind farm planned for Michigan's Thumb region. The unit of Jackson-based CMS Energy Corp. announced Wednesday that it has entered into a long-term agreement with Geronimo Energy to buy electricity from the Apple Blossom Wind Farm in Huron County, which plans to start construction next year.
