(Telecompaper) Spanish consumer protection authority FACUA has submitted complaints to a number of bodies against Vodafone Spain's imminent price hike of several of its mobile tariffs. Starting 01 July, subscribers to the Mini, Smart and Red plans will see their rates increase by around EUR 1 to EUR 3 per month in exchange for improved services, such as higher monthly data limits. However, FACUA has complained that the changes do not respect the agreed contract conditions and expressed concern about the move to start charging customers who exceed their monthly mobile data limit by default. Previously the operator simply lowered the internet access speed when customers reached their monthly limit instead of charging for continued access.
