County to reduce workforce

Workforce reduction without resorting to layoffs is one of several steps the county will undertake next year to address an anticipated $1 million shortfall in the 2017 budget. As a result, open positions in three departments - one each in building maintenance, surveying and information technology - will not be filled, county officials said.
