The Robeson County Board of Commissioners will consider a resolution Monday that calls for a new redistribution system for state sales tax revenue that would benefit rural and poor counties such as Robeson. A bill proposed by state Sen. Harry Brown, a Republican from Onslow County, is included in the Senate's current budget proposal and calls for distributing sales tax revenue to counties based on population rather than the current system of distributing 75 percent of sales tax to counties where the tax is generated.
