Cricket drops Muve Music, to offer Deezer music service

2015-01-08 17:17:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) US operator Cricket Wireless has entered an exclusive wireless agreement with music streaming service Deezer. From 31 January, Cricket customers will have access to 35 million songs and more than 30,000 internet radio stations from around the world. Cricket will discontinue its existing Muve Music service on 7 February and offer existing Muve customers an extended free trial of Deezer from Cricket when they switch to Cricket's new GSM network. All new and existing Cricket customers on the new LTE network are also eligible for a minimum fifteen-day trial of Deezer. Following the free trial period, Cricket customers will automatically be billed USD 6 per month for Deezer from Cricket unless cancelled. As part of the deal, Deezer acquired the Muve Music service from Cricket for an undisclosed sum. The deal marks the first time Deezer will be available to mobile subscribers in the US.
