Cutrale-Safra extends bid to buy Chiquita shares, take it private

If all goes as planned, Cutrale-Safra says it expects all the Chiquita shares to be submitted by the first 15 days of January. The U.S. Justice Department and the Federal Trade Commission both agreed to an early end to the waiting period for Cutrale and Safra groups $1.3 billion to take the Charlotte banana company private.
