Total waste disposal in Michigan landfills rose 4.7 percent in fiscal year 2014 and the state is importing steady amounts of trash from Canada and other places, according to an annual report from the Department of Environmental Quality. Michigan imported 7.67 million cubic yards of waste from Canada in FY 2014, which runs from Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept.
