Davis at Legislature: Beef imports could cripple cattle business

The USDA recently announced its intent to permit the imports of fresh and frozen beef from certain provinces in Brazil and Argentina, although those two nations still have regions which are infected with foot-and-mouth disease. Foot-and-mouth disease was eradicated in the United States by elimination of infected animals and a quarantine prohibiting the importation of animal meat products from infected nations.
