"It's truly remarkable that the auto industry is finishing off its best year ever just six years after the depths of the Great Recession," Jessica Caldwell, Edmunds.com director of industry analysis, said. With December sales figures likely to surpass any month in the past 10 years, this year will be solidified as the highest sales year in United States history by over 100,000 vehicles according to LMC Automotive projections.
