Exxon-Mobil has spent millions of dollars promoting skepticism about climate change. But recent reports indicate that the fossil fuel giant knew years ago that climate change was real, that it was caused by fossil-fuel emissions, and that the effects of it would be, according to one of the company's own memos, "potentially catastrophic."
