Dependability and Safety Support Engineer

Aurora is an established supplier of skilled manpower to ESA and in particular at ESTEC and ESAC. Aurora has the opportunity to expand our support to ESA in the domain of PAE Product Assurance Safety Engineering. Overview The generic tasks to be performed are following reported Technical support to projects for the interpretation of safety requirements and participation in safety reviews. Support preparation and preliminary assessment of Safety Data Package for Safety Authority approval. Support RD activities e.g. TRP, GSP, GSTP, CDs Dossiers etc. Participate in collaborative activities with universities, research institutes and industry scouting, Research Fellowship, NPI etc.. Support organisation of conferences and workshops. Contribute to continual improvement of the RAMS Toolbox. Support preparation of training courses and materials Specific qualification requirements University degree MSc. in a relevant Engineering discipline. Relevant experience of application of RAMS engineering to space programs, including in ground andor ground based systems and operations. Experience in design and engineering of safety critical systems. A handson knowledge of the RAMS analyses and methodologies Hardware and Software, preparation of relevant RAMS documentation during the overall project lifecycle and application of ECSS dependability and safety standards. Experience in dependability and safety engineering management processes and objectives and experience during operations is an advantage. Experience in the field of ground safety and projects assistance in obtaining the relevant launch centre safety certification is an advantage. Familiarity with space product assurance practices together with a good working knowledge of appropriate RAMS tools is an advantage. Fluent in the English language spoken and written. Knowledge of another European language is an asset. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line withESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included. Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially.
