Design Authority Space projects Category Information Technology City Leatherhead, Surrey, United Kingdom Position ID J06150675 Permanent Full Time Position Description This is an exciting opportunity to play a part in the development of Galileo, Europes satellite navigation system. The Galileo programme requires an experienced Design Authority to work on the advancement and compliance of the existing full operational capability FOC contract. The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in the architectural development and requirements evolutions and adherence of Galileo, Europes satellite navigation system. With exacting contracted standards, as a senior design authority, you are expected to understand the detailed design, coding, testing and documentation of the project. Your role will also include leading the investigation, troubleshooting and delivering resolution to anomalies. You should be able demonstrate that you are capable of quickly picking up new concepts the system is large and complicated. You must be able to work to high standards of quality, and to agreed timescales independently or as part of a team. Your responsibilities include Being a proactive member of the design team and leading your framework activities Reporting to the project manager accurate metrication, clarity in purpose and progress against schedule Analysing existing highlevel design and Interface Control Documents to derive detailed design documentation, Writing detailed designs based on high level designs of components, Following the agreed design documentation to implement the components, Providing guidance to the development and testing teams with hands on involvement when required Raising observation reports for bugsanomalies in the system requirements and the system being tested Technical investigations, analysis, tradeoffs of solution options including rapid technical prototyping Technical management of system build scripts and procedures and COTS deployment Technical management of upgrade deployment scripts and procedures to update the operational systems Market assessment of COTS products for obsolescence replacement programme At CGI, were a team of builders.
