Detroit's Shinola expands flagship store, reaches 500 employees

Since opening their flagship store at 441 West Canfield in Midtown, the high-end leather goods, watch and bike company has opened nine other stores around the world, which include locations in London, Los Angeles, Ann Arbor and Washington, D.C. Shinola's well-verbalized mission since it was launched in 2011 by Fossil founder Tom Kartsotis has been to return manufacturing to the United States, with Detroit as its production epicenter. And now the Midtown store is twice as big.
