(Telecompaper) Global Wi-Fi network Fon and Deutsche Telekom have joined forces to set up a Wi-Fi network in Germany. This will launch under the name 'WLAN TO GO' in summer 2013. Deutsche Telekom has 12 million broadband subscribers and more than 12,000 hotspots across Germany. Telekom CEO Rene Obermann said the partnership supported Telekom's network expansion strategy. He said that it was aiming to provide nationwide WLAN TO GO at more than 2.5 million additional hotspots by 2016. To join the network, Deutsche Telekom's broadband subscribers just need to sign up to the Fon service and share the unused capacity of their internet connection with other users.
