Development Engineer for Damage Tolerance Deadline for applications 18022020 Job Description For our client we are looking for a Development Engineer for Damage Tolerance for their location in Bremen, Germany. The candidate is responsible for analysis, damage tolerance and proof of operational stability and qualification of components and structures in space travel. Tasks and Responsibilities Securing the damage tolerance and operational stability of space structures metal and composite structures, components, tanks, fuel lines Definition of load spectra and determination of load spectra from measurements Professional selection and qualification of inspection procedures NDI Assessment of material properties depending on environment, material technology and manufacturing process Application of numerical methods for the determination of stress intensities and local stresses, crack propagation simulation, fatigue analysis Esacrack Software Package Derivation and implementation of damage tolerance requirements for components and subsystems Ensuring structural integrity Fracture Control Program and monitoring implementation Conversion of external and internal requirements into functionalities for components and subsystems within the framework of predefined concepts Development of damagetolerant components and subsystems Support in the development of damagetolerant, complex components and subsystems Implementation of the latest materials and technologies available on the market, Components and tools for subsystem development as well as their production and testing and if necessary after agreement on their use Interpretation, documentation and presentation of the results Evaluation of construction deviations. Requirements At least a Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering At least 1 year of experience with Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis At least 1 years of experience with mechanics in aviation In depth knowledge of Nastran Experience with CAE programs like ANSA, Hyperworks or PATRAN is desirable Experience in working with the ESACRACK Software Package is advantageous German at least proficient English at least business fluent French language skills are an advantage Very good knowledge and experience in fracture mechanics, fatigue strength and materials engineering Good understanding of the theoretical representation of technical problems in engineering practice Communication skills and teamoriented work Ability to present development results in front of a technically oriented working group Reliable assessment of technical problems and their reliable analytical treatment.
