For our activities at EUMETSAT, we are looking for a Dissemination Engineer for the Sentinel3 mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission to support services relating to the marine and global land environment, with capability to serve further atmospheric and cryosphericbased application areas. The objectives of the Sentinel3 mission encompass the commitment to consistent, longterm collection of remotely sensed marine and land data, of uniform quality, for operational ocean state analysis, forecasting and service provision, in the context of the Copernicus Services as set up by the European Commission. Tasks The Dissemination Engineer shall provide support to the development and maintenance of the Data Services systems, with special focus on the Sentinel3 Data Dissemination Services. The duties range from gathering requirements, design, implementation, testing, and configuration of EUMETSAT developed dissemination software and related commercial off the shelf software COTS throughout the entire software life cycle including review of similar software. Qualifications and Requirements A University degree or equivalent plus 8 to 10 years of experience A minimum of 5 year experience in the following mandatory areas Provision of first line maintenance support for operational systems Operations and maintenance of data disseminationdistributiontransfer systems in a 247 operational environment Software development, verificationvalidation and maintenance, using a formal life cycle Software Engineering with extensive experience in designing and developing software components and applications in the Java and CC programming language under Unix Linux, AIX, Sun Solaris using Object Oriented OO approach.
