Dow Corning invests $6 million in Midland silicones manufacturing plant

A $6 million expansion at Dow Corning Corp.'s silicones manufacturing plant in Midland is complete, officials announced Thursday, March 31. Dow Corning officials say the investment is intended to "provide growing beauty and personal care markets with a reliable supply of silicone elastomer blends," according to a news release. "Evolving global consumer preferences, specific customer requirements and differing regional expectations are driving innovation and global growth in beauty and personal care markets," Dirk Soontjens, Dow Corning global market segment leader, said in a statement.
