Dutch broadband lines grow to 6.65 mln, revenues up 3.4%

(Telecompaper) The Dutch broadband market rose 0.6 percent, or by 37,400 net additions, in the first quarter to 6.65 million connections, according to Telecompaper's quarterly broadband report. DSL's 1.1 percent quarterly decrease was offset by cable growing 1 percent during the quarter and FTTH/B growing almost 6 percent. DSL is still the largest broadband technology with 3.14 million lines, with cable catching up with 2.99 million lines. FTTH/B had a market share of 7.8 percent at the end of Q1. Telecompaper estimates that consumer broadband retail revenues lifted 3.4 percent in Q1 to EUR 478 million.
