(Telecompaper) Fewer Dutch consumers are interested in subscribing to pay-TV channels, according to research by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel. The number of households that already have subscriptions to channels such as HBO, Film1, Sport1, Fox Sports International or Fox Sport Eredivisie is relatively stable. Those who said they were (very) likely to subscribe to Fox Sports International or Fox Sports Eredivisie is stable at 2-3 percent. In June, 84 percent said they were (very) unlikely to subscriber Fox Sports International, compared to 82 percent six months earlier. Sport 1 saw a similar change, with only 2 percent likely to take subscription compared to 3 percent six months ago. The picture was the same for the film channels HBO and Film1. Three percent are already subscribed to HBO and 4 percent to Film1. Another 3 percent said they are (very) likely to subscribe to HBO and 2 percent to Film1. It's unclear how yet how much an impact the increasing number of OTT video options are having on the Dutch pay-TV market. According to the Telecompaper Consumer Panel, 7 percent of the Dutch had access to Netflix in the second quarter, while 3 percent used the service Pathe Thuis and 1 percent Videoland Unlimited.
