E. coli testing begins at Traverse City-area beaches

More Grand Traverse-area beaches will be tested for the bacteria E. coli this summer to ensure they are healthy for swimmers. The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports that the Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay received almost $29,500 from the state Department of Environmental Quality for weekly testing at local beaches, and more funding to expand to some inland lakes.
