EPA Finalizes 2013 RFS Requirements

Scott Shearer, Bockorny Group, Washington, DC The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced its final rule for the 2013 fuel requirements that are part of the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS). The requirement calls for 16.55 billion gallons of renewable fuel to be blended with conventional gasoline. EPAs standard specifically requires 1.28 billion gallons of biomass-based diesel, 2.75 billion gallons of advanced biofuels, and six million gallons of cellulosic biofuels. EPA reduced the cellulosic biofuels level from a proposed 14 million gallons to six million. read more
