Solenix is specialized in the provision of highquality software engineering, technical consulting and operations services in the aerospace domain. This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. EPSSG System Planning Support 191051 Job Description We are looking for an experienced System Planning Engineer for our customer EUMETSAT. The selected engineer will be working in the new EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation programme EPSSG. This support role focus on the definition and maintenance of the development logic, schedule and subsystems interactions. The EPSSG system covers the space segment satellite and instruments, ground segment, satellite application facilities, launcher service and LEOP service, as well as the corresponding operations preparation activities. The main tasks are to be performed during phases B and C and include Maintain the system development logic and schedule in coordination with all partners and subsystems until handover to operations Identify all interactions between subsystems and partners, and associate them with main system development milestones and the program work breakdown structure Prepare and maintain Interactions Documents for partners, defining all interactions between subsystems, together with their need dates. Interactions will cover deliverables hardware, software, documentation, test data and tools, support and access. Manage the configuration of all schedule and Interactions Documents versions Follow up all subsystem developments and participate in any necessary meetings and reviews Track progress against agreed development plans and Interaction Documents and signal any likely or identified deviations from these plans, together with proposals to reduce the impact of any delays Provide regular summary reports on system development progress against the development schedule and the status of interactions Required Skills and Experience University degree in the domain of engineering, science or equivalent At least 5 years of experience in the field of largescale system development Demonstrated ability to define system development logic and schedules and successfully implement them Demonstrated ability to understand the technical aspects of system components and their development constraints Proficiency with MSProject Demonstrated ability to analyse complex development schedules, identify critical areas and produce accurate and concise analyses and recommendations Experience in working in a rigorous manner with formal configuration management of schedule versions Ability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision Have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks Good communication skills verbal and written Willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies Full English proficiency Desirable Skills and Experience Experience of large space systems development Demonstrated experience of defining system interactions and successfully implementing them in a large project Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 15 October 2019 Start of Work December 2019 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
