For our location in Darmstadt, Germany we are looking for a ESTRACK Station Validation Engineer to work at ESOC. Tasks This position is for a candidate to cover the ESTRACK Station Engineering and ESTRACK Validation Engineering services. The provision of Station Engineering services, include Support the onsite Maintenance and Operations activities including but not limited to repair, spare, incident analysis, configuration, performance monitoring. Maintenance of the Station configuration Support the preventive and corrective maintenance activities of the station Support the station upgrade processes from the review of requirements to the validation and handover to operations This service will be primarily be provided for the assigned ground station although support to others stations maybe required in line with evolution of ESTRACK service needs. The provision of ESTRACK Validation Engineering Services includes the support of the RFCT process by Reviewing the Compatibility Verification Matrix, Test Procedures and test results Definition and execution for the Radio Frequency Compatibility test plan and production of the Test Report Essential requirements GroundStation knowledge i.e. architecture, subsystem maintenance and operations, incident management, station performance. Telecommunication Engineering knowledge, i.e. RF expertise including practical experience as RF engineer in groundstation Configuration control expertise i.e. knowledge and experience in configuration management Fluency in English, both speech and writing Coordination with other service providers in operations team player Interaction with other service providers in operations and other fields e.g. science ground segment Ability to work independently Ability to present ongoing work and issues Ability to write technical reports reflecting the performed tests and the associated results. Desirable requirements Understanding of Compatibility Tests Familiarity with the ESOC environment processes, configuration control Familiarity with ground station control processes and setup Some experience dealing with external interfaces like MO and industrial suppliers Familiarity with Ground station maintenance and operations Additional information Start date is June 2018.
