Unit prices of European clothing imports have moved in radically different ways over the first quarter this year, depending on origins and on the trend in corresponding currencies. If China and Bangladesh have not been able to offset the fall of the euro, other low-cost origins have limited its impact thanks to a fall in their US$ prices. As usual, average prices are hiding sharp differences when considering the different categories of products. Our series of comparison tables offer a comprehensive view of EU's clothing imports per HS 4-digit category with volume, value and unit price changes, while market shares are also calculated for each major supplying country.
