EXCLUSIVE: John Morrell moving 50 corporate jobs to riverfront

Newport City Commissioners approved a job development incentive program with Smithfield Foods Inc. , the parent company of John Morrell, at the end of June. The incentive provides John Morrell with a 50 percent income tax abatement for 10 years, should the company move into Newport.
