Fayette Advocate: The movements of the Earth's axis are crucial to understand, since they affect the performance of satellites and global positioning systems. The study, published recently in the journal Nature Geoscience, also revealed that about half of the ice in north-central Greenland is resting on a thawed bed and that the meltwater is routed to the ocean through a dense hydrological network beneath the ice.
