000 ABPZ20 KNHC 061726 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 1100 AM PDT Sat Oct 6 2018 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane Sergio, located a little more than 1000 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Satellite and surface observations indicate that the low pressure area that was over the far eastern Pacific Ocean has moved inland over Central America and further development of this system is not expected. However, this system is producing a large area of showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across western Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and the coast of Guatemala. These rains are expected to continue across portions of Central America for the next few days, resulting in flash floods and mudslides in areas of mountainous terrain. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...near 0 percent. $$ Forecaster Brown
