000 ABPZ20 KNHC 061740 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 1100 AM PDT Fri Aug 6 2021 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Jimena, located over the far western portion of the eastern Pacific basin, and has issued the last advisory on Post-Tropical Cyclone Hilda, located a little over 1500 miles west of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. A large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms is located a few hundred miles south of the coast of southwestern Mexico. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for additional gradual development, and a tropical depression is likely to form early next week while the system moves west-northwestward at about 10 mph, parallel to and offshore of the coast of southwestern Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent. An area of low pressure is expected to develop a few hundred miles southeast of the Gulf of Tehuantepec by early next week. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for gradual development thereafter, while the system moves west-northwestward to northwestward at about 10 mph, parallel to and offshore of the coast of southern Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent. $$ Forecaster Roberts
