787 ABPZ20 KNHC 081124 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 500 AM PDT Sun Aug 8 2021 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Kevin, located several hundred miles south of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. A broad area of low pressure is producing some disorganized shower activity a few hundred miles offshore of the coasts of southern Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for development of this system, and a tropical depression is likely to form during the early or middle portions of the week. This system is expected to move westward to west-northwestward at about 10 mph during the next several days, parallel to and offshore of the coast of southern Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...50 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent. && Public Advisories on Tropical Storm Kevin are issued under WMO header WTPZ31 KNHC and under AWIPS header MIATCPEP1.
