Financial Times: The UK climate advisory body has fired a shot across the governments bows over greenhouse gas cuts as another row looms over whether green policies make British businesses less competitive. Lord Deben, chairman of the committee on climate change, wrote to Ed Davey, energy secretary, on Monday saying that failed efforts to toughen EU-wide climate targets were not a reason to change UK goals.
