Space Applications Services performs and supports system and software engineering for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies and the aerospace industry. We are involved in international manned unmanned spacecraft programmes, earth observation, science, exploration, communications and related technology development. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Electronics Engineer for Flight Systems Development mf Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the Companys premises in Zaventem Brussels, with occasional shortduration travel mainly to the Netherlands. The candidate who will join the Systems Ground Segment Department will perform the following tasks Review, assessment and challenging of specific applicable requirements. Definition of electronicelectrical system architecture, preliminary design and detailed design. Technical specification of custom electronics developments and customisations. Selection of CommercialOffTheShelf COTS and HiRel electronics boards. Flight qualification of COTS electronics boards. Technical management of electronics boards developed by suppliers. Manufacturing, assembly and testing of electronic interfaces and harnesses. Assessment of radiation impact on the system. Preparation of electrical analysis reports and EMC analysisassessment. System reliability, availability, maintainability and safety assessments. Preparation of test procedures and test reports. Verification of requirements in the Verification Control Document VCD. Qualifications and Experience For this position we are looking for engineers with the following background and skills Masters or Bachelors degree in an electronics discipline. Experience with flight systempayload development. Experience with electronics boards manufacturing and assembly. Experience with power electronics and control electronics development. Experience with flight qualification, verification and testing. Experience with the ECSS processes for electronics development and verification. Experience with rugged and embedded computer systems. Excellent communications skills in English both spoken and written. Experience with payloads for the International Space Station ISS is desirable Experience with Cubesat electronics design and COTS components is desirable.
