Embedded Software Design Engineer SPACE LAUNCH 4560k negotiable plus benefits and a chance to earn equity remote working initially Our client is a new European space launch company with backing from one of Europes largest venture capital investors. We are recruiting an experienced embedded software engineer for an exciting spaceflight avionics development role based in the United Kingdom. We are seeking someone sufficiently motivated and experienced in embedded software design within avionics to work on a new general purpose computing platform for an orbital space launch vehicle. The platform will be used for GNC and ECU processing requirements. You will probably be a young, frustrated aerospace avionics software design engineer, working in a slowmoving environment that rarely gives you a chance to see your work in action. You will be eager for a fastpaced opportunity that offers exceptional responsibilities and the chance to create a critical component on a European space launch vehicle. Start date July August 2018 Workplace Flexible within UK Travel Occasional within Europe Your responsibilities will include Lowlevel embedded software design development HLD and DD with documentation Design, development and testing a library of low level drivers including IO interface functions including GPIO, ADC, SPI and UART Ethernet communication protocol Local nonvolatile storage Watchdog reset recovery Working with hardware development colleagues to ensure compatibility and reliability Experience Experience of realtime operating system design and development Understanding of microcontroller architecture and interfacing at the hardware register level Background of interfacing to realworld sensors controls Fluency in use of software development environments Fluency in CC programming language You will probably have these core attributes Minimum bachelors degree in a related field 48 years of realtime embedded software development experience Operating system design and development A flexible and dedicated mindset is required for this role. Although we have some formal requirements, we are looking for people who can demonstrate they get things done with a pragmatic attitude.
