Employers mull impact of insurance costs for adding same-sex spouses to plans

For an issue that spawned an endless stream of arguments and vitriol, same-sex marriage is generating considerably less heat among Louisiana employers who will have to extend health benefits to same-sex spouses. A number of firms say they expect little in the way of added costs or impacts from the U.S. Supreme Court's legalization of same-sex marriage.
