Context Based at the satellite manufacturer premises, the incumbent will be a key contributor to the activities of the Digital Payload Implementation Working Group. The incumbent will actively contribute endtoend engineering expertise to satellite procurement programs, to development projects and to innovation projects. In cooperation with the SES technical teams in Betzdorf, the incumbent will also contribute to the definition of new satellite systems leveraging uptodate semiconductor technologies and digital signal processing techniques. The incumbent will be involved in activities of satellite manufacturers contracted by SES in relation to new developments at the core of the upcoming generation of communication digital processors. Responsibilities Review design documents related to new equipment being developed, identify potential deficiencies and provide recommendation for improvement Analyze the manufacturers tradeoff choices based on the system perspective given by SES experts and provide recommendations for equipment optimization Assess technical issues identified in the development of Digital Processors and associated subsystems and their impact in the overall system Maintain awareness of innovation initiatives undertaken by the satellite manufacturer and analyses their impact on the SES future satellites Organize periodic innovation meetings with the manufacturer Contribute digital payload expertise to innovation projects pursued by technology in interaction with the satellite manufacturer Contribute digital payload expertise to RFIRFP discussions with the satellite manufacturer Experience Qualifications University Degree in electronicmicroelectronic engineering related fields Research experience in digital signal processing, a PhD in the domain being an asset Fluency in English, one other European language being an asset Demonstrated experience in Digital Signal Processing in the domain of communication systems Solid theoretical background in digital communications and proven ability to apply the theory to solve practical problems Solid theoretical background on semiconductor technologies and their application to analog and digital integrated circuits Good understanding of ASIC development principles Basic knowledge of RF technologies Basic knowledge of satellite based technologies Effective analytical skills interpersonal skills Outstanding presentation skills for articulating complex subjects to unfamiliar audiences To apply click here
