Engineer, IT Systems Ref SES0640 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company SES Category Other Position Staff Published 20150724 Context The Engineer, IT Systems is directly responsible to the Senior Manager, IT Systems for the evaluation, design, analysis, implementation and documentation of Hardware and Software Linux projects within SES and affiliated companies, as well as for IT project support within the organization and for customer related projects. Responsibilities Design, specify, procure and implement IT Systems based on Linux Operating System Review, document and optimize all existing Linux infrastructure Review or create processes and workflows for Linux projects Define, write and optimize processes about usersystemsproject creation Design, specify, procure and implement Global Systems monitoring tool andor integrate it within existing SCOM infrastructure Review, document, maintain and update all BCP processes including Linux systems Project Management using existing Project Management Methodology Provide support for new solutions deployment and optimization to internal and external customers Provide deliverables according to timelines Act as the interface between the department and the internal and external customers. Experience Qualifications Be highly service and customer oriented Understand all stakeholders in the service delivery process Be process oriented with skills in documentation and workflows Have and show sound analytical skills, innovative mind, coordination priority setting facility, problem solving, project time management, critical tasktactical related decision making, vendor relation skills and diplomatic skills as well as the ability to provide practical conclusions Be willing to integrate into an international environment Be willing to travel and liaise with international customers Have at least 35 years of applicable professional experience Have proven experience on Linux Technologies Debian preferred Have proven experience on Project Management Methodology Have proven experience in IT Process Methodology ITIL, COBIT Have proven experience on scripting Have experience on monitoring tools Puppet, Centreon, PRTG, HP Oneview. Have proven experience in server management, administration, troubleshooting and deployment preferably HP Hardware Have a good knowledge of backup technologies Have experience on virtualization technologies Citrix, VmWare, Datacore certification is an asset Have experience on SAN technologies Have experience in Windows environments and Systems Have experience in Microsoft Active Directory management certification is an asset.
