Role Description Summary System Engineering assesses and ensures the optimal performance of SESs space ground segments for customer service delivery, identifying and resolving issues and inefficiencies evaluates technical developments and provides support for system development activities e.g. new satellite implementation develops technical tools for systems analysis, optimal capacity allocation, and operations. This function will also manage the development and monitoring tools required for supporting SLAs Service Level Agreements designed for specific market segments or customers. Your mission is to contribute to the development of innovative RF concepts improving existing antenna and satellite systems or enabling new antenna and satellite systems based on Software Defined Radio approaches. The field of innovation will cover electronically steered active antenna arrays, high power amplifiers, and other key RF building blocks. Primary ResponsibilitiesKey Result Areas Execute and deliver your mission based on the SES technological roadmap for RF equipment and subsystems Explore new concepts for RF equipment and subsystems in collaboration with relevant SES teams, industrial partners, and research institutes Manage handson inhouse labbased innovative RF systems development projects, including design of hardwaresoftware, proof of concept prototypes, implementation, and testing Support the development of breakthrough technologies such as Electronically Steered Arrays which will address gaps in the current portfolio of ground terminals and satellite payloads Provide Design and Engineering review support for the development of product concepts and ensure that the designs incorporate flexibility, scalability, and reusability Work with technology suppliers to present RF technology alternatives to product development teams Contribute via detailed analysis and elaboration of requirements to RFIs for new RF equipment and subsystems to be developed and procured for new applications Develop engineering tools to support the analysis and optimization of RF Subsystems and Antenna Systems Maintain awareness of, study, and evaluate new RF technologies applicable to SES satellites, SES ground infrastructure, and terminals used in SES systems Who We Are Looking For More About You To achieve the outcomes described above, we believe you will have the following SkillsCompetencies Design thinking and ability to align designs to meet the commercial and technical requirements Ability to work efficiently both autonomous and in interdisciplinary teams SelfStarter with a high level of personal accountability Highly motivated and able to set priorities and to work under tight deadlines Excellent communication and presentation skills display a proactive approach towards internal and external customers Ability to provide practical conclusions Aspiration to innovate Commercially focused with a good grasp of business principles Demonstrate effective intercultural awareness Preferred Education Experience a combination of education and experience will be considered Masters Degree College Degree in Engineering or equivalent, coupled with professional vocational training and qualifications 2 to 5 years relevant experience Proven experience in RF hardware design and characterization in research or commercial environment Desirable domains of expertise SSPA design, MMIC design, active arrays, frequencies up to 50 GHz Good knowledge of RF equipment development Proven experience in RF simulation tools, supporting design and performance evaluations Good knowledge of SDR technologies with the ability of practical hardwaresoftware implementation of proof of concepts Basic understanding of satellite communication and systems Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset Willingness to travel internationally Whats in it for you Flexible working policy Bonus and equity plans Comprehensive and competitive benefits plans A range of wellness activities and employee assistance programs varies by location An employer that values all aspects of Diversity and respects every individuals story The contents of this job description are subject to change.
