Entel acquires Nextel Peru for USD 400 million

(Telecompaper) Latin America mobile operator NII Holdings, which operates under the Nextel brand, has agreed to sell its Peruvian unit to Chilean mobile operator Entel for USD 400 million. The proceeds from this sale will provide Nextel with additional liquidity as the company continues to invest in the deployment of its next-generation networks in Mexico and Brazil.
