(Telecompaper) Vodafone announced the retirement of CTO Steve Pusey, who joined the company from Nortel in 2006. Pusey will be succeeded by Johan Wibergh, currently Ericsson's executive VP and head of NSegment Networks. He will report to Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao and join from May to enable a period of transition prior to Pusey's retirement, which will start on 31 July. Pusey will step down from the board after the Vodafone Annual General Meeting on 28 July and will not stand for re-election. In a separate announcement, Ericsson said Wibergh will leave his position from 15 January but remain available for the company until end April. The departing head of Segment Networks joined Ericsson in 1996 and the company's Executive Leadership Team in 2008. CEO Hans Vestberg will take over his duties at Segment Networks.
