FAA Receives Unleaded Fuels Proposals

FAA received 10 replacement fuel proposals from producers Afton Chemical Company, Avgas LLC, Shell, and Swift Fuels as well as consortium of BP, TOTAL, and Hjelmco for further evaluation in Piston Aviation Fuels Initiative (PAFI), which aims to help general aviation industry transition to unleaded aviation gasoline. FAA will assess viability of candidate fuels to determine for participation in first phase of laboratory testing at William J. Hughes Technical Center.
